Shannon Dickie has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph in Studio Art. In her oil paintings, she explores society’s interactions with digital media. Shannon is drawn to moments of people in motion. Through her use of blur, she not only implies the motion of the figure but also associates the digital image with memories. Most recently, her paintings focus on scenes of people at beaches, boardwalks, and streetscapes in moments of beautiful light.

Shannon would love to Zoom chat and talk about the artworks! Just email to arrange.

Chasing Light

This series of paintings capture the play of light as the sun sets. Inspired by urban environments with people in motion, these works aim to harness the energy of light and movement. Embracing moments through a thoughtful colour palette and use of blur, the artist captures both the motion of the figures and a fleeting moment in time.
